Dr. Liz O'Brien, DVM

Liz O'Brien was born and raised in Hamilton, and is practice leader at the Village Cat Clinic. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario in 1985. Today, Dr. O'Brien is the only Board certified Feline Specialist in Hamilton with only a few others in Canada.
Dr. Mark Camilleri, DVM
Grew up in Barrie Ontario on a small hobby farm full of all kinds of pets from peacocks to raccoons, and of course barns full of cats. . Graduated from OVC in 1996. Worked for first 2 years after graduating in a small animal referal practice in East Aurora New York, developing skills in surgery, internal and emergency medicine. Then worked in a small animal mixed practice in Winona with Dr. Tom Nugent, the Burgess Emergency hospital in Burlington, and Watzin Veterinary Clinic in Waterdown. until recently coming to join the Cat Clinic in Hamilton and the Village Cat Clinic in Ancaster full time.
Dr. Diane Bourdeau, DVM
Diane Bourdeau graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1988. She was the owner of a small animal practice in Cambridge for 10 years before she decided to pursue her life-long ambition of feline practice.
Dr. Wilhelmina Kaufmann, DVM
Helmi Kaufmann graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1968. She worked in small animal practice in Hamilton for seven years before taking a break to start a family with her husband John. She was the second female veterinarian to work in the Hamilton area. In 1995, Dr. Kaufmann opened Village Cat Clinic; with the vital assistance of Kim and Marie, both of whom are still working with us. In January of 2008, Dr. Kaufmann sold the practice to her friend of twenty years, Dr. Liz O'Brien. She continues to work here part time, so don’t worry, she is still available for appointments!
Leslie Sweeney, Practice Manager
Leslie has been with The Cat Clinic and the Village Clinic as the Practice Manager since 2003. She graduated in '96 from the Animal Care Program at Sheridan College with honours, and was the recipient of the Cormack Animal Hospital award for high academic achievement. In addition to managing our two practices she also acts as a management consultant and has fully computerized and set up veterinary programs for several clinics. Leslie has also taught Veterinary Facilities Management Courses at Sheridan College for the Animal Care program.
