Bonjour mon nom est Lucy et je suis très heureux de faire partie du programme d'adoption de The Cat Clinics!
Update: Lucy has unfortunately found her way back into our adoption program. She had been adopted by a senior and was fitting in very well but when she developed diabetes and potentially needed insulin it was felt that Lucy needed to come back to us. We have been able to control her diabetes with just diet but she may eventually need insulin twice a day. She has also been diagnosed with stage 1 renal disease which at this point doesn't require treatment. Thankfully her spondylosis is well controlled with gabapentin mixed in her food twice a day. We realize this makes Lucy a special needs kitty and she will have a hard time finding a new home but she is so sweet we are praying for a miracle for her.
Lucy would like to say hello! This chatty girl is another pretty lady who came all the way from Gatineau, Quebec. Two of our technicians saw her one night on the One Last Chance Rescue site and fell in love with her gorgeous green eyes. The Freedom Riders arranged a relay ride for her. After spending the day travelling with a car full of other cats and even a couple of dogs she arrived here in Hamilton. We got to watch the relay team’s conversation throughout the day and what repeatedly came up was how friendly and chatty Lucy was. We don’t know a lot about Lucy’s history except that she was surrendered because she smelled bad. Turns out she had a dirty back end because she has arthritis and can’t reach to clean. Some pain medication, a weight loss plan and dental procedure later and she was all ready to find a new forever home. She scored big in the new home department. Her new mom lives in a seniors residence where she will have more love and visitors than any kitty could ever want.
Our Adoption fee is $175. This includes the full initial series of vaccinations, neutering or spaying, deworming, defleaing, fecal testing, FeLV/FIV testing, treatment for any external parasites, an insurance trial, and microchipping. In Lucy’s case it also includes dental surgery.
