Cats are well known to camouflage illness until it has advanced

Diagnostic Testing

Blood work and urine testing are a very important diagnostic tool that provides a significant amount of information about your pet's health. A profile is typically performed under two different circumstances; as part of a diagnostic workup on an ill patient or as part of a preventive wellness screening.

Cats are well known to hide or camouflage illness until it has reached advanced stages. Diagnostic tests can help us determine causes of illness accurately, safely, and quickly. Repeated profiles may also be performed while your cat is hospitalized to accurately monitor their response to therapy.

Three of the most common diseases of older cats are kidney disease, diabetes, and hyperthyroidism. Wellness and senior screening allows us to test for these diseases and initiate proper treatment. Some conditions may be identified on tests well before clinical signs of the illness occur. If detected early, these diseases generally can be effectively managed and your cat can continue to live a longer, healthier life.
